The shovels are in the dirt, and the future of healthcare in the Clemson area is officially under construction!
On August 19, 2025, the Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to join city officials, community leaders, and the AnMed team for the official groundbreaking of the new AnMed Central/Clemson medical campus. Located at 1490 18 Mile Road, this $105 million investment marks one of the most significant healthcare advancements for our region in decades.
Why This is a Game-Changer for Clemson
For years, residents of Clemson and Central have had to drive 20 minutes or more for emergency services. This new 150,000-square-foot facility will change that by providing the only 24/7 emergency department in the immediate Clemson/Central area.
What the new campus will offer:
A Chamber-Supported Vision
The Clemson Area Chamber was out in full force to celebrate this milestone. As our community grows—fueled by the success of Clemson University and our local business sector—the demand for accessible, high-quality medical care has never been higher.
Clemson Mayor Robert Halfacre noted during the ceremony that this facility is "a promise to our community," ensuring that in moments of crisis, help is just around the corner rather than a highway drive away.
What Happens Next?
Construction is currently underway, with a scheduled opening in Spring 2027.
In the meantime, AnMed’s existing presence at 885 Tiger Boulevard will continue to serve our community with its urgent care, pediatrics, and family medicine practices. This new campus won't replace our current local services; it will exponentially expand them.
We are thrilled to welcome AnMed’s expanded footprint into our community. It is investments like these that make the Clemson area not just a great place to visit, but a safe and thriving place to call home.
